Cupping/Gua Sha/Moxibustion

service

Unlock the realm of enhanced well-being through the ancient practices of cupping, gua sha and moxibustion (aka heat therapy). Dr. Rozenn offers these potent therapies in combination with acupuncture treatments. They are particularly helpful for those grappling with musculoskeletal challenges, breathing difficulties and infertility.

Gua Sha and Cupping

Chinese theory underscores the vital dance of circulation for a life of vitality. When muscles tense, blood flow stagnates, and toxins accumulate, forming a bruise that a tight muscle can not release. Frequently when cupping or gua sha (scraping) is employed to enhance blood flow in the muscles, a pattern of bruising on the skin becomes apparent. This bruising is not abnormal, nor is it caused by cupping or gua sha. Rather, cupping and gua sha bring up the old, stuck blood in muscles to the surface of the skin. This “bruise” was always there with you, but Dr. Rozenn brought it to the surface so your body can break up this old, stuck blood and let the new blood with oxygen and nutrients into your muscles. This process frequently brings instant relief.

Dr. Rozenn’s therapeutic expertise steps in, employing cupping and gua sha to catalyze healing:

  • Releasing Muscle Pain: Cupping and gua sha stimulate circulation, liberating muscles from spasm-induced constriction.
  • Breathe Again: Cupping can be used to open the lungs and relieve coughing from bronchitis or asthma.
  • Radiance of Results: Immediate shifts unfold – range of motion expands, breath deepens, pain recedes, and relief unfurls.

Moxibustion

The true translation of “acupuncture” from Classical Chinese medicine is “acumoxa”. Moxibustion, aka heat therapy, is inherent in Classical Chinese and Japanese medical healing. This gentile modality warms acupuncture points and key areas of the body via different forms of the herb moxa (artemisia), as well as the application of hot packs to affected areas, resulting in pain relief, and increased circulation. The miracle of moxa is that it can also be used to promote ovulation and stop uterine bleeding, cementing its importance in Chinese gynecology. This versatile modality is available in many forms. Dr. Rozenn will choose which form will best suit you given your current issue and desired outcome.
