Your New Year’s Resolution-Making it Stick

heart healthNew Years Resolutions can be tricky. For some of us, it involves setting idealistic goals which only sometimes, if we’re lucky, pan out. So what makes for a successful New Years Resolution, and how can we make beneficial changes last.

Structure – While self-motivation is great, it can take a lot of Qi to get started and even more to keep it up! Working within an existing structure of solid, attainable goals takes the pressure off.

Support – We’ve found that for most patients, weekly check-ins during times of change make a big difference. It helps promote bodily awareness and helps us to define the next step as we go.

Knowledge – You’ve heard it time and time again…knowledge is power! In contrast to focusing on day-to-day ups and downs, learning about your health will benefit you in the long run. Since knowledge can’t be lost, you will gain a solid framework on which to build your goals.

Not Sure What Your Resolution Should Be? (We Have An Idea!)

There is a new tool available to patients who wish to individualize their diet and boost health: The ALCAT test kit.

With the ALCAT test kit, we can order a variety of blood panels that will give us greater insight than ever before into your health. Blood panels measure cellular response to foods, herbs, additives, prescription drugs, molds and environmental chemicals. You can order one of many Comprehensive Panels or customize your own. By utilizing ALCAT, you can learn with great specificity which foods your body responds to as medicine and which it responds to as poison See my blog post for more about this topic. Unlike other tests of its ilk, ALCAT not only identifies problematic foods, it shows us exactly how your body responds to them – and to what degree – on a cellular level.

Possible benefits to identifying and eliminating problematic foods (for a set period of time, not forever) in your diet include:Power of Women

  • Strengthening the immune system
  • Decreased pain and inflammation
  • Weight loss
  • Increased energy
  • Decreased digestive complaints
  • Improved skin health
  • Enhanced hormone/mood balance, and more….
If you would like to incorporate ALCAT testing into your New Year’s Resolution plan, make an appointment today!
